Ciclobby onlus profile

Ciclobby onlus is a no-profit organisation established in 1986 to promote, encourage and support cycling in urban areas as economic, efficient, healthy and environmentally friendly means of transport. The organisation operates mainly in Milan.

Ciclobby is associated to FIAB onlus (Federazione Italiana Amici della Bicicletta); the latter acts as the italian bike federation. FIAB is associated to ECF (European Cycling Federation).

In particular Ciclobby :

• has established relationships with local authorities (Comune, Provincia) to achieve safe and friendly cycling conditions in Milan;
• has established relationship with national and local railways companies (FFSS, FNM, MM) to promote the bike + train service;
• organises every sunday, for members and not members, bike tours in cultural and/or environmentally interesting areas;
• promotes educational events based on the organisation goals;
• organises two big events every year: "Bicinfesta di Primavera" and "Bimbimbici". The former is an easy bike tour that takes place in Milan in March involving thousands of cyclists. The latter, promoted by FIAB, is a bike tour that involves childrens and their parents.
